Hi Confusement, thanks for your reply. No, i was testing on my devices (Nokia 5800), anyway i discovered what was wrong. I was using App manager download from betavine (version 1.0), i installed Vodafone App manager 3.0 and trying again my app, finally it gave to me the exact DPI of device. Have a nice weekend Carmelo Maiolino
Hi marcus, Not sure if this will help: http://www.jil.org/jil-forums/posts/list/323.page I've often edited the config.xml file manually without any issues. However the discussion above explains how to create a new JIL 1.2 widget with the correctly formatted config.xml file. This might get you going at least. Please let me know if I've misunderstood your problem. Good luck, Dan Silivestru http://tinyhippos.com
Hi Tcb2k20, Are you testing directly on the device or in an emulator on your machine? I only ask this, because 96 dpi is the standard pixel density of most computer monitors. Cheers, Dan Silivestru http://tinyhippos.com
Hi all, i just tell you my experience happened some day ago. I developed a widget, i tested it with the APP manager by Betavine (the one you can download in the website), everything worked fine on Emulator, and then on Device Nokia E65, N95, and Nokia 5800. Finally i uploaded my widget waiting for QA, but after awhile, my widget was rejected cos of some strange Behaviour in CSS. I was going crazy cos i tested it very much before to send, and everything was working good. I wrote to the tester, and he kindly explained what was wrong in my app in detail. I wrote him back asking in which devices they tried my app, and he said "E52" and "N97", till here nothing special, but then i asked if something was different in the Platform he was using to test. He answered to me: the Official Vodafone App Manager 3.1, and he told to me that abnormal behaviour of my application could be due to the Version i used to test my App (1.0 from Betavine). After all this, i wonder , what is the sense of developing and testing for version 1, when then the official release for end user of the APP is at the moment the 3.1? I can test my app for months and everything is ok, and then discover that in APP 3.1 it didn't work, seeing my app rejected, with the result that i only wasted time for developing and resources. Is it a bit of non sense have 2 different versions of App manager, the one for developer (version 1.0) and official App Manager (Version 3.1) Thanks in advance for who gonna reply to me, and i apologise for the lenght of my post.
Hi all, i've some problem in detecting DPI on Nokia 5800. According to the document "different_resolutions_mobile_phone.pdf", Nokia 5800 should have to be 229PPI, but when i try to lunch the function on device, it returns to me 96Dpi, how 's possible? Thanks
