Vodafone is an innovation-based company and we recognise and are supportive of information exchange across Vodafone and externally with our stakeholders. We know that innovation is enhanced through the networking of smart minds and dialogue between all sorts of people. Please tell us what you like, dislike and let us know what you think because at Betavine we want to hear what you have to say.
If you do choose to discuss matters related to Vodafone or other organisations in a public space such as on Betavine, we simply ask that you keep a few common sense rules and guidelines in mind:
- The right to blog is given for the express purpose of talking about specific internet or wireless communications applications or ideas.
- Always identify yourself and make it clear that the views expressed in your blog are yours alone.
- Please respect the confidentiality, copyright, trade secrets and proprietary work of others. If it's necessary to reference or include others' work in your blog, make sure you obtain the relevant approval and acknowledgement.
- Your blog is a public space so we ask that you are respectful to Vodafone, our employees (both past and present), our customers, suppliers, affiliates and everyone else.
- Please remember the purpose of Betavine. This has an impact on what you are encouraged to talk about, and what you shouldn't address in your blog and comments on other blogs. Blogs on Betavine should only relate to developer activities and applications on Betavine. Going off-topic may remove your permission to blog and comment.
- Please be aware that Blogs will be reviewed from time to time. Vodafone may request that you temporarily confine your weblog commentary to topics unrelated to Vodafone, and we may temporarily suspend your Betavine activity altogether if we consider it necessary or advisable to ensure compliance with securities regulations or other laws or the integrity of Betavine. Generally, Vodafone will not censor comments made within the Betavine blog space unless we consider them to be inappropriate, defamatory or offensive.
- We recommend that you keep your content issue-specific, unemotive, professional and above all, compliant with all applicable UK laws and regulations. If you find any obscene, defamatory or inappropriate comments posted in or about your blog on Betavine, please don't respond but instead refer the comment to the Betavine Administrator at webmaster@betavine.net immediately.
If you have any doubts about whether any material is appropriate to include in your blog, please ask webmaster@betavine.net. You will find our Code of Ethics useful when writing your blog.
We also ask that you keep your communication within the blog space, but if you would like to blog on a specific topic, give "off blog" feedback on a web blog or if you have any questions or are simply unsure, please email the Betavine Administrator at: webmaster@betavine.net.
Lastly, by registering and blogging on Betavine, you agree that your blog content is made available under a Creative Commons Attribution 3 License. With respect to attribution (acknowledgments), Vodafone will make best effort to credit your authorship when publicly displaying, reproducing and copying your content.
THE BLOGGER CODE OF ETHICS
1) Managing responses:
- I will reply to emails and comments promptly and where appropriate, although I am not obliged to respond to all comments.
- I will disclose conflicts of interest immediately.
- I will not get into escalating arguments - it is time consuming, upsetting and ultimately pretty futile.
- Any off-blog discussions will be re-routed back into the blog space. A suitable reply would be "I am sorry but I am unable to continue chatting outside the blog, please keep communication within the blog"
2) Blog in a constructive way:
- I will tell the truth.
- I will write with a clear purpose in mind.
- I will make all attempts to get my facts right and if I am not sure, I will ask.
- I will preserve the original post and will not delete comments unless it's spam, off-topic or unlawful.
- I will be respectful of others' opinions even when disagreeing with them.
- I will show proper consideration for others' privacy.
- I will not post any material, which is
- insulting
- obscene
- defamatory
- libellous
- threatening
- harassing
- abusive
- hateful
- embarrassing to another person
- infringing any intellectual property rights
- or that is otherwise unlawful.
- I will be positive and professional
- I will be proud of my contributions. I want to inspire my audience, add value and provide worthwhile information.
- I will post as if everyone I know, reads or hears my words. I will think about others' reactions before I post any comments.
- I will strive for quality in my blog by being clear, concise, accurate and truthful.
- I will keep personal topics private and not jeopardise personal or work relationships.
