Student Competition Guidelines (2008)

 
All student competitions run on Betavine are operated under the Student Competition Terms . The winner and the runners-up of each competition are eligible to win prizes, for more information please check the details of the relevant competition.
How to enter a student competitions
Step 1

Complete the entry form

Goselect your preferred competition and click on enter competition

Gocomplete the competition entry form

Goread and accept the Student Competition Terms

Gosubmit the entry form

Step 2

Create an application profile

Gothink up a name for your application

Goenter the application profile name and click create

Gopopulate the various sections of the application profile page, as appropriate

Step 3

Upload your application

Goupload your application to the app profile page, this can be done as many times as you like, the latest version will be the one judged for the competition

Goupload any associated documentation that supports your entry

Key elements for successful entries

The competition sponsors are looking for the following elements in successful entries:

  • Inventiveness
  • Functionality
  • Usefulness
  • Ease of Use
  • Performance
Additional Notes
  • competition entries are expected to work on at least one mobile device, please state which devices the application has been tested on.
  • applications can be built from open source software components, please check licence terms and state which open source components you use.
  • competition entries may need the support of a server to run, in which case the student must ensure that the server is available for at least 30 days after the competition closure date.
  • the competition sponsor reserves the right not to award any prizes if none of the entries are of sufficient quality.
