There are a number of competitions listed on Betavine, some are hosted by our partners and some are hosted by us, some require you to be a student to enter, some are open to all Betavine members. (Betavine competitions for students can be found over in the Student Zone). The first Mob4Hire competition has now closed, and the winner was Super Happy Fun Fun. But fear not! For they have launched a new competition that ends on August 31st!

This year, in conjunction with Informa Telecoms & Media and dotMobi, ilovemobileweb.com are launching the ilovemobileweb Awards at Mobile Web Europe 2008 – the Official event of the dotMobi Advisory Group.

The awards are designed to showcase the very best in .mobi website design and development.

How to enter:

Enter one of six exciting categories for free before Friday 22nd August 2008 at 22:00 GMT, and have your work featured online at http://www.ilovemobileweb.com for the industry to view.

Judging and the Judges:

Final judging decisions will be made by an expert industry panel, and winners will be honoured at a special ilovemobileweb evening on Tuesday 23rd of September during Mobile Web Europe.

This year's ilovemobileweb awards judging panel includes:

  • Michael O'Farrell, Chair of the dotMobi Advisory Group and Co-Author of mobile Internet for Dummies
  • Vance Hedderel, Director, PR and Communications, dotMobi
  • Mark Newman, Chief Research Officer, Informa Telecoms & Media
  • Anil Malhotra, SVP of Alliances & Marketing, Bango

The awards evening will be attended by high-level executive from across the mobile web value chain, along with exciting industry start-ups and innovative developers, where the expert industry panel will announce the winners from each of our six award categories:

Each winner will receive*:

  • A delegate pass to 1 of the Informa Mobile Web events in 2009
  • dotMobi Advisory Group Observer Membership (Or credit against current year's membership if already a member)
  • A Next-Generation Smartphone from one of the dotMobi investor companies
  • Winners names and sites will also be promoted to international media organisations

The party will continue into the evening, providing excellent networking and the opportune time to do business in a fun and informal environment.

All Mobile Web Europe attendees are eligible to join the awards evening. Those .mobi website developers who have been short-listed for the ilovemobileweb awards will be invited to attend the After Hours Mobile Web Developer Roundup & Awards on 23 September from 18:30pm.
